The Secondary Lenses on Learning professional development materials are designed to support the efforts of site-based mathematics improvement teams to advance middle and high school students’ mathematics achievement in the face of higher expectations for all. These print and DVD resources are intended to be used in seminar settings, with teams of middle school, high school, and district leaders. They include: materials to be used in an orientation/promotional session; facilitator notes and video footage for six sessions; and participant readings, handouts, and assignments.
Background
Secondary Lenses on Learning is an extension of two sets of professional development materials for K-8 principals developed previously at Education Development Center:Lenses on Learning

Lenses on Learning Supervision: Focusing on Mathematical ThinkingIn response to urgent demand in the field to produce materials that address mathematics leadership for middle and high schools, the National Science Foundation has funded the development of Secondary Lenses on Learning.
