CAEPP conducts research to better understand the clinical, psychological, organizational, cross-cultural, and ethical complexities associated with advances in medical knowledge and technology. Based on that research, the center designs programs and resources aimed at improving clinical practice, health care decision-making, and, ultimately, patient and family well-being. Our focus has included end-of-life care, pain management, organ donation, clinician-patient relationships, and a variety of ethical issues related to genetics and genomics.
