Kirsten Peterson is the Associate Project Director of EdTech Leaders® Online, COPE's online professional development capacity building program for educational organizations. This program of web-based online learning strengthens and extends existing professional development programs in K-12 school districts, regional educational service providers, and teacher preparation programs.
Additionally, Kirsten is involved in several COPE projects aimed at helping educators incorporate online professional development into existing professional development programs. She directs COPE's work with the Harvard Graduate School of Education to support district leaders from Milwaukee Public Schools in their teacher induction and retention efforts through online professional development. She also supports COPE's involvement in NEIRTEC, one of the ten regional technology in education consortia funded by the U.S. Department of Education, to assist educational leaders in establishing effective professional development programs for the classroom integration of technology.
A former high school Language Arts teacher and publications advisor, Kirsten has a history of developing technology-enhanced curriculum and providing professional development at the school and district level. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Montana State University and an Ed.M. in Technology in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
