Facilitation
Definition of Role
A facilitator is usually someone from the school or district who has the time, authority, influence, and knowledge to shepherd the Make It Happen! process through awareness, start-up, curriculum design, implementation, and reflection/expansion. Knowledge is needed not only about adult learning and team dynamics, but also about inquiry-based learning in general and the I-Search process in particular.A facilitator can face many challenges in leading a team of teachers through the I-Search process. Some of these challenges are directly related to the process of introducing innovation into the school context, while other challenges are related to the interpersonal nature of the Make It Happen! approach.
