Venn DiagramAs a part of the immersion activities during Phase I of a unit on rivers called "A River Runs Through It," students were taught about the White River, which passes through Indianapolis. Later in Phase III, students worked independently for a short time, researching one aspect of a different river; for example, "Life along the Ganges" or "Animals that live in the St. Lawrence." Once groups were reunited, they needed a method for coordinating their information. Students were taught to use Venn diagrams to compare and contrast the river they chose to study and the White River.
