Publications
The Institute's research and development projects
have ranged in size from national technical assistance centers
to targeted research to the development of new technology-based
resources. As part of these projects, we have produced a number
of publications from classroom materials to research reports to
guidebooks and resources for informal educators, parents, students,
and businesses. Our work is often described in articles and presentations.
This sections contains some of our publications, both directly
and indirectly related to our projects, organized by our areas
of work.
While all publications can be downloaded, some are
also available in print or CD. Order information for these is
included with the publication.

Gender Healthy/Respectful Schools an award-winning video, was produced and developed by the EEC's Gender, Diversities, &
Technology Institute and 7 Generations Video.
The video is approximately 18 minutes. (NOTE: To view Gender-Healthy Schools on your computer,
you will need a media player like Real One Player and/or
QuickTime Player.)
Gender Healthy/Respectful Schools captures the experiences and lessons learned
in a three-year project in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts schools. Funding from the Caroline
and Sigmund Schott Foundation allowed teacher teams to develop projects that would contribute to
the creation of schools in which girls and boys thrive socially, emotional, and academically;
pursue interests and build competencies free from gender-biased, stereotypical expectations;
and become confident that they can and do make a difference in their world. The video highlights
key characteristics of gender healthy/respectful schools.
Individual copies of Gender-Healthy Schools are available at $20 each. They can be ordered from the
Gender, Diversities & Technology Institute, EDC, 55 Chapel Street, Newton, MA 02458. Checks should be
payable to EDC.
For questions about ordering, please contact Sarita
Nair-Pillai. |
