 HHD Newsletters

HHD's projects have several on-line newsletters:

  • The Northeast CAPT publishes a monthly e-bulletin. This bulletin contains information on topics such as upcoming CAPT trainings, new publications and important substance abuse prevention research. If you would like to subscribe to this list, send your email address to capt@edc.org or call 888-EDC-CAPT.
  • Catalyst is a newsletter of the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention. This newsletter covers current AOD prevention issues at colleges, such as campus policies for preventing student alcohol probelms and using media to support prevention. Catalyst discusses emerging issues and highlights innovative efforts on campuses that may be helpful at other colleges. It also includes announcements of upcoming conferences and training events.
  • Building Bridges was designed to promote collaboration between traffic safety and public health professionals. It features case studies of collaborative trafic safety projects, interviews with professionals about their experiences with collaborative programming, and other features of interest to those involved in injury prevention and traffic safety.
  • Building Safe Communities is a bi-monthly mewsletter designed for those involved in community-based traffic safety programs, or other efforts to prevent motor vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian injuries. BSC features reports, interviews and news about prevention strategies and technologies, data collection and analysis, coalition building, public education and communication, and fundraising. It includes information on other useful resources and a calendar of conferences and traffic safety emphasis periods.
  • School Health Program News, published three times a year, is put out by the National Training Partnership, a program that promotes healthy behaviors among the nation's youth. School Health Program News invites organizational and resource information and articles that discuss issues of general interest to school health programs.
