Amy Morse

Project Director II

Amy Morse is a Project Director in the Center for the Development of Teaching. She received her M.S. from Boston University and her B.A. from Hamilton College. She now works primarily as a consultant to the Elementary Math Department of the Boston Public Schools. Morse’s work involves supporting the implementation of a citywide restructuring of math education in the elementary schools and developing and facilitating professional development for the cadre of math coaches. In addition, Morse is collaborating with several coaches to design and facilitate seminars in mathematical thinking for parents in the community. This work is based on Deborah Schifter's Developing Mathematical Ideas, another EDC project and is funded through the city of Boston. An emerging component of the math coachwork is the development of written cases based on the many layers of the coaching roles and experiences. This casework is funded by a grant from the ExxonMobil Foundation.
