Amy Weinberg
Senior Research Associate
Amy Shulman Weinberg is a Senior Research Associate in the Center for the Development of Teaching. She currently works on a group of projects that focus on the implications of standards-based mathematics for the practice of elementary school principals and other school administrators and on understanding the ways in which principals' ideas about mathematics, learning, and teaching affect the learning of children and teachers in their schools. Together with her colleagues, she supports administrators to re-examine the beliefs they hold about mathematics, learning, teaching and leadership and to consider the implications of their beliefs on the actions they take as school leaders. Prior to coming to EDC, Amy taught science and mathematics in Boston-area elementary schools and worked at TERC developing science and mathematics curricula and conducting project evaluations. She received an M.Ed. from Lesley College and a B.A. from Bard College.
