Through Theme-Based Learning
When
I worked into a theme process, I incorporated that into my groups. I was teaching the same
concepts, but based around a theme. Over time I started incorporating themes into my
circle time. We decided we hadn't been successful in teaching colors. I don't know how
important teaching colors is; it's just something you do in lower grades. We started with
one color every month and in our circle we had a color theme. We might sing a song and do
a counting activity incorporating that color. Then from there I started thinking I could
carry this throughout the whole day.
