PainLink is a virtual community of health professionals working in institutions that are committed to alleviating pain. An initiative of Education Development Center, Inc., PainLink was established in 1995 with funding from The Mayday Fund of New York City, which funded PainLink through 1999. Since 1995, PainLink has worked with over 60 hospitals and nursing homes. Pain Link is now fee-based. Participating institutions receive technical assistance (TA) which includes administration of the Pain Management inventory (a clinician survey of knowledge, attitudes, institutional barriers, and pain management learning needs), teaching cases, consultation with EDC staff, a listserve discussion, and access to a variety of pain management resources. With more than 325 projects around the globe, EDC is one of the world's leading nonprofit education and health organizations.

Institutionalizing Nondrug Interventions for Pain Management in a Pediatric Setting. At Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, California, procedures for using nonpharmacological interventions have been adopted. Their procedures are featured for the March PainLink Presents.
