RAISING & EDUCATING BOYS:
Developing Strengths and Connections in a Changing World

"In my entire "career" as a student, this course ranks in the top
three...I've had. It has impacted
me both personally and professionally in a very positive way."
School District Project Director and Course Participant

Based on overwhelmingly positive participant response, the Gender and
Diversities Institute is again
pleased to offer "Raising and Educating Boys: Developing Strengths and
Connection in a Changing
World," an online professional development course for educators at all
levels, parents and anyone
interested in supporting the healthy development and education of boys.

Framed within the larger context of gender equity efforts, the course
examines key concerns and
explores research-based strategies and interventions aimed at addressing
the particular needs of
boys without compromising the gains achieved for girls in our schools.

Here's what other participants are saying about the course:

"This course far exceeded my expectations, and I had already been looking
forward to a very positive
experience!"
Course Participant & Gender Equity Specialist

"The readings were excellent, especially moving from analysis of gender to
resiliency...the
discussions were wonderful, particularly the sharing of ideas/resources."
HS Teacher

"Course content and resources were current, top notch, cutting edge,
engaging, relevant, and built
upon each other well...thank you!"
School District Project Director

"There are no words to convey the depth of my learning and the richness of
the experience."
Educator and Doctoral Student

"Before taking the course, I was not familiar with the gender equity issue
at all. This course was
the introduction for me. Each time I sat at the computer to take in the new
information, I was
overwhelmed with what was presented by both the instructor and other
participants."
Elementary Teacher
