Hello to all,
I'm sorry that I didn't get an opportunity to check in last week and
tell you how much I enjoyed the dialogue with the selected WEEA project
directors. It never ceases to amaze me how much people accomplish with
relatively small grants under this much maligned and always threatened
funding. Congratulations to all of you on all of the good work you're
doing "in the trenches" where it counts.
Thanks also to Diana for her kind words about their involvement with the
GESA program. I had an absolutely wonderful time with all of the
participants in Pierre, SD, last summer and look forwrd to our working
together again. It was also good to hear about Carmen's project in San
Mateo, as well as the others. I hope that Diana and Carmen and others
reading this will consider coming to the Association for Gender Equity
Leadership in Education conference (AGELE) in San Diego, CA, July 10-13,
2002 @ the Coronado Island Marriott. AGELE (formerly the National
Coalition for Sex Equity in Education) is an organization to which all
of you need to belong. It will connect you with other equity
professionals from around the country and will be a great place for you
to consider displaying your wares about your projects. For more
information, check out the website: www.agele.org. If you're interested
in presenting, ignore the deadline and contact me directly within the
next week or download the call for proposals from the site and forward
it with a note to the program chair, Barb Bitters, that you're a
WEEA-funded project and would like to be considered.
For those of you interested in GESA, check us out @ www.graymill.com.
Thanks again for all of the good work and for your patient persistence.
There's still plenty of work for all of us and collaboration is the key.
Sincerely,
Dolores (Dee) Grayson, PhD
