Gender equity: Men and women have comparable opportunities to access
desired or required resources.

People with disabilities are able to access resources that create
opportunities for them to reach their full potential and meet their needs.

People of all ethnic backgrounds are afforded the opportunity to achieve
their full potential.

All of the above also imply that institutions have examined themselves in
order to actively remove existing obstacles and dangers to equal access.

Dear Colleague,

The Gender and Science Digital Library project (GSDL) at Education
Development Center, Inc. (http://www.edc.org/GDI/GSDL) would like to enlist
your help in developing this educational resource. The primary objective of
the GSDL is to create a high-quality, interactive and user-friendly library
of K-12, higher education, women's studies, and teacher preparation
resources for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)
disciplines.

We are interested in identifying what the following phrases about "equity"
mean to you? Please keep your responses to each of the phrases no more
than five words.

1. Gender equity

2. Equity for people with disabilities

3. Equity for people of all ethnicities

Thank you for your contribution and we look forward to receiving your
feedback.
