Monitor:
Afghan girls who are back in school for the first time in five years are
also seeing healthy images of women and minorities in their textbooks.
The books that survived the war portray women as housewives. Up to 10
million textbooks will be delivered throughout the country by spring, as
part of
a $6.7 million program to give teachers educational materials that do not
focus on war, reports the Christian Science Monitor.
