Let us note the subject here. It was not "gender equal"; it was gender
free, two very different attitudes. Gender equal means that all things
aside, everybody is considered and treated equally in the eyes of God and
the teacher (in some classes I've attended, this amounts to the same
thing). Gender free, on the other hand, implies to me a Calvin Cline-esque
unisex commercial for one of his colognes.
