Progress?

Lesemann,
You asked: "So who says that we have made any progress in the last
100 years?"

You used a formal and methodical instrument for textbook
evaluation that was provided by an employee of a publicly
funded agency to determine that, indeed, sexism and bias
appear to dominate the social studies textbook. You applied
the analysis in some state and in a nation that provide the
statutory mechanisms to address the discrimination that has
occurred as a consequence of the bias. The synthesis (plan)
you will design will apply your own solution and will
utilize what you know about the school district. The
application of the bias screening device and the resultant
analysis will uniquely equip you for using the process
designed to address actions against your daughter because
she happened to be born female. The result should be an
educational environment which will be less likely to
exploit her as a member of her gender. You will prevail.

Might I join those who say we have made progress. It isn't
perfect, but progress rarely is. Have we created hope?
Might I join those who say we are working on it.
