    More than six in 10 people believe that women and minorities are not
    fairly represented in textbooks. According to a poll conducted by Zogby
    America, more than 70 percent of Democrats said women and minorities
    deserve more credit in textbooks, as did 65 percent of independents. Less
    than 50 percent of Republicans agreed.
