They have specific strategies for including ALL students in Cooperative
Learning group situations. We are piloting the project here in Vermont in
some elementary and middle school math and science classrooms, and teachers
are very positive about both the theory and application.
A primary focus is on student "status" as it relates to participation in
hands-on work. Teachers are taught how to read status, how to affect it,
and how to design lessons that call on the many abilities that a diverse
group of students has to offer.
