Your comment made me smile, and apparently mine made you laugh.
I'm glad that you taught yourself to read, that you had a kindergarten
to attend and books around that you found compelling. I certainly wish
I were wrong and that all children had opportunity and motivation and
the confidence to surge ahead on their own. As for the issues of
stereotypes, visit a middle school and ask around.
