 (This workshop will be moderated by William A. Howe of the
Connecticut State Department of Education.)

This interactive workshop will review the obligations of schools in
respect to various federal and state laws, including, but not limited
to, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, and IDEA. Specific areas that will
be addressed are immigrant rights, language rights, gender equity,
sexual harassment, and discrimination based on race, religion, and
sexual orientation. This workshop should be of interest to
administrators, curriculum directors, social workers, guidance
counselors, parents, and those responsible for providing services to
bilingual, ESL, special education, immigrant, and migrant students
and their families. Priority admission will be given to Title IX
Coordinators who have completed the Connecticut State
Department of Education training for Title IX/ Equity Coordinators.
