I agree with Christina's concerns about "what about the boys" driving down
interest in the need for Title IX. Who isn't concerned that huge numbers
of
*both* boys and girls drop out or are "pushed out" of school? Still, can
someone confirm and provide any updated research whether it is still the
case
that even if boys drop out and do not finish high school they still end up
with jobs (plumbing, for example) that make more than many girls do after
four years of college (as teachers, for example)? I've always thought the
connection between education *and* gender *and* the labor market should be
more thoroughly researched.
