A Conference Celebrating 30 years of Title IX

Leadership in a New Environment: Holding the Doors Open

Friday, November 1, 2002
University of Denver Campus
Denver, Colorado

The passage of Title IX changed the educational landscape in the United
States. The leadership that created change and opened doors for those
previously denied entry was strong, innovative, and far-reaching. The 30th
anniversary of Title IX is a perfect time to celebrate past achievements
and to look to the future for gender equity. This conference seeks to
address the continuing need for educational leadership in times of change
and challenges.

Join us for an exciting day of speakers and workshops. Among the keynote
speakers are:

Deborah Brake, Esq, University of Pittsburgh Law School
Dr. Mary Frances O'Shea, National Coordinator for Title IX Athletics,
Office for Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education
Dr. David Sadker; American University, author of Failing at Fairness
Verna Williams, Esq. University of Cincinnati Law School

Some workshop topics are: Athletics, Diversity and Ethics, Diversity in
Educational Leadership, and Generational Experiences.
