Subject[EDEQUITY]Title IX: Hockey
Add to this list, Minnesota's experience, where girls were expected to not
interested in winter ice team sports after they turned twelve. In 1990,
parent's complained on behalf of their daughters and the Department of
Education took action, and now there are at least 6,000 girls who play
for their school's team and the schools actually have a girls' team in
addition to the boys' team. They were there all along, just couldn't play.
