Dear C123S105L@aol.com and Others:

Yes, you should speak with the teacher, but you should be maintaining contact
with the school anyway, when things are going well and when there are problems.
Schools would improve 100% if parents showed any interest at all. This is true
especially at the middle and high school levels. Stop by, show your
appreciation. Show your disapproval. Offer your assistance. If this means
working late one night and asking for one afternoon off to go to school, do it.
If it means volunteering on a Saturday, do it. If it means writing letters, do
it. Our public schools need the active interest and involvement of parents.
Frequent, politive contact would make all the
difference in the world.
