When someone makes a categorical assertion such as yours in regards to the
fact that ''you are glad you were born in this country and not in another'' I
always wonder if the person making the statement has in fact had had the
opportunity to ''live in other countries'' in order to be able to make
comparisons. The contradictions of which you speak about regarding capitalism
being exploitative in nature and yet able to allow certain liberties is perhaps
rooted in the nature of the system itself that Hegel refered to as
dialectical.
