Concerning your statement that "you have made a career out of staying on
top of your daughter's school" and your implication that parents who do
not do that cannot care about their children's schooling speaks to
your priorities.

Alas, many parents are coping with major illnesses and myriads of other
concerns so that they cannot spend their time and energy in that
particular way. Also, our society has people who have economic and
social concerns that impact their interaction with the schools. It is
important that people see that education is not just about their
particular child or children but about all children and yes, many
people care just as much about their children as you do
yours. They are just not so arrogant as to think that they have all of
the answers.
