I'm hesitant to support the use of such laws, which seem to be a form of
'benovolent sexism' -- a term I've seen in a number of places. These
laws seem to promote the notion that a female's reputation or chastity is
her most important quality!

I'm all for eliminating the type of stereotyping that results in the
"slut" mentality, but I'm not sure this is the way to do it.
