Want to Connect With a Mentor to Help Guide You on this Path?

       Consider joining a select group of seasoned gender equity scholars
and researchers in a special American Educational Research Association
[AERA] Pre Conference Workshop.
Mentoring Scholars in Gender Equity Studies will focus on
-Creating an effective mentoring-mentor relationship
-Selecting and disseminating gender equity research projects
-Publishing in scholarly and popular journals
-Implementing workshop ideas on your home campus.

The session will be facilitated by a cadre of respected scholars,
including:
-Lee Anne Bell, Barnard College
-Maenette Benham, Michigan State University
-Judith Glazer-Raymo, Long Island University
-Linda K. Johnsrud, University of Hawaii at Manoa
-Shaireen Rasheed, Long Island University
- Evelyn Reid, Clark Atlanta University
- David Sadker, American University
- Peg Boyle Single, MentorNet and University of Vermont

Who: Doctoral students and junior faculty members
When: Sunday afternoon April 20 (2:00 PM - 8:30 PM), and
            Monday April 21 (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Where: AERA Annual Conference in Chicago, Illinois
Cost: Free. In fact, AERA will pay for your hotel room on Sunday evening,
and even feed you! (Yes, there is a free lunch). Space is limited, so
please apply early.
How to Register: Email or snail mail a brief paragraph or two describing
your scholarly efforts and/or goals, and what you would hope to gain from
this workshop. Include your email and snail mail addresses, your
professional affiliation. Applications will be reviewed by March 1, 2003.
