The Governor of Maryland has recently appointed a 19-member
"Commission/Council on Girls" to assess the status of girls statewide in
areas such as education, health, safety, etc., and to make recommendations
to state legislators and policy-makers. Members include representatives
from state agencies, education, the private sector, community
organizations,
and the media. We are trying to determine if any other states presently
have such a Council, or if states have had similar organizations in the
past. We're interested in knowing how the Commission functioned and what
type of recommendations were made. Please let me know.
Thanks !
