I am interested in how the pressure of 'culture clashes' such as early
marriage and motherhood are ameliorated with American ideal of
personal achievement through educational attainment. I am aware that even
asking the question underscores my own bias toward expanded options for
women.

Within the general population, early motherhood places both mother
and child in high risk categories for health, poverty, and other quality
life indicators. Is this also true for immigrant females whose cultures
promote early parenthood?
