I find this topic very interesting. A woman in my church whose daughter
was
going to school in the New England area was being stalked by a young man.
I
encouraged her to report the incidence to authorities and the Justice
Department. She said the college/university told her that was unnecessary,
that they would handle it. I tried to convince her that the institution
just didn't want the publicity.

It is hard when your daughter is on a scholarship from the
college/university and you are of modest means. The young woman has just
received full tuition for her Masters and Doctorate programs.

To my knowledge the stalking has stopped but I wonder how many other
similar
unreported cases there might be.
