On Friday (April 6th) the National Center for Educational Statistics
released
the report "The Nations Report Card: Fourth Grade Reading 2000." This
report
states that (page 33) "the increase in score difference between males and
females between 1998 and 2000 represents a statistically significant
widening
of the gender gap."
Any thoughts as to why the language arts is the only academic area that is
going backwards with respect to gender equity?
