While athletics are a significant part of education,
they are two separate realms in terms of funding.
The sexism in that statement is blatant; boys don't
need funding to help them academically, they get
sports programs and funding. The prejudice becomes
even more clear if you replace gender with
race...under that reasoning, black people don't need
funds to support their academic programs, they have
funds to support sports teams. That is incredibly
racist as I'm sure anyone can tell. Why is the
sexism so hard to grasp?
