You may also want to connect with local funding initiatives for gender
equity, such as the Schott Foundation's Gender Healthy Schools Initiative.
This exciting local foundation has targeted schools in Boston and
Cambridge, providing small grants to about 20 schools each year and
offering technical assistance and evaluation (provided by two Gender and
Diversities Institute projects). In it's third year of funding, this
initiative is learning a lot about institutionalizing gender-healthy
environments. For more information contact Shirley Mark at the Schott
Foundation (617-876-7700), <sm@schottfoundation.org> or Maria Paz Avery at
EDC 617-969-7100<mavery@edc.org>.

Subject: [EDEQUITY ]Wanted: Best Practices for Girls' Programs

Hi,
I work at the SF Department of Children, Youth and Their Families and we
are putting together a Request for Proposals for girls' programs serving
specifically Latina young women. We fund community based organizations
that serve young people 0-18.
To this end we need a set of best practices for girls programs. Does this
data exist? If anyone out there with has any leads or data please contact
me asap (reply all so that my coworker can get the data).
thanks in advance for your help!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Gettelman
