Education that is nurturing, that includes high expectations, and that pays
close attention to the needs of each student is education that helps ensure
that all students can thrive and excel academically. Classrooms in both
formal and informal settings that are peaceful, respectful, challenging,
and engaging maximize the potential of all students. Classroom climate,
curriculum, and practice that draw on the strength student's
identify--gender, race, ethnicity, disability, or socioeconomic class--help
to ensure that the individual and group needs of students are addressed.
Gender healthy schools work--for all students. Want to know more?

Visit our website to learn more about our work. http://www.edc.org/GDI

Here you'll learn about our projects and initiatives, find links to
organizations around the world, and read about our online
courses--including a new course on raising and educating boys. You can
submit recommendations for good practice or resources that we can share
with others and find information on new initiatives in technology. And
coming soon will be new working papers and an online newsletter that will
provide information about gender and diversities in education from around
the world.

Please pass this announcement to other listservs or organizations who might
be interested.

Thank you.
