Greetings EdEquity Members:

Here are our weekly resources. I have divide the weekly resources into two
sections (part 1 and part 2) because, heard from members that the actual
printout (hard copy) was not so wonderful when the list is too long.

CONFERENCES in Rhode Island:
The National Coalition for Sex Equity in Education will hold its 22nd
annual conference on September 21-23, 2001 in Providence, Rhode Island. It
is being co-sponsored by the New England Equity Assistance Center and the
Education Alliance at Brown.

Entitled "Equity Connections: Theory, Research and Practice", the
conference promises to advance gender equity with innovative model state
and local programs, research reports, current legal issues and policy
development, exhibits, networking and much, much more.

Featured speakers include -
 Beverly Daniel Tatum, Dean and Vice-President for Student Affairs at Mt.
Holyoke College
 Michael Thompson, author of "Raising Cain"
 Peggy McIntosh, founder and co-director of the SEED (Seeking Educational
Equity and Diversity) Project on Inclusive Curriculum, Wellesley
College
 Diana Lam, superintendent of schools in Providence, RI

CONFERENCE in Arizona
8th Annual Conference National Association of Gender Diversity Training
October 31st - November 2nd, 2001 (Sunburst Resort)
Scottsdale, Arizona

Theme: Closing the Gap-Scaling the Heights: Men and Women Working Together.
Dynamic, interactive conference designed for organizational attraction,

CONFERENCE in Seattle, WA
The Washington State Association for Multicultural Education (WSAME)
will hold the Eighth Annual State Conference on Saturday, October 6, 2001.

The conference will be held at Seattle Community College Campus, 1701
Broadway,Seattle, WA. We expect approximately 600 participants who will
include:
members of WSAME, educators, and representatives from business and
non-profit organizations.

The exhibit area will be located on the fourth floor at Seattle Central
Community College. The exhibits will be open to the conference
participants from 8:00 AM to 3:15 PM. The set up time for exhibitor
displays will
start at 7:00 AM.The charge for a 3' x 8' table is $100.00. There will be
half tables
available for $50.00 (to accommodate exhibitors requesting a small space).

developed a new *information only* listserv called E-News. E-News
provides a once a month e-mail update with information on the latest
events and trainings, new products, electronic resources, and funding
opportunities in the areas of secondary education and transition.
