There have been interesting experiences for young women that do just that.
The Newton Academy at the University of Missouri-Columbia is one such
experience. I know that people directly involved with it are on this list.
Can someone fill in the blanks for us?

It's very interesting to me that much of this dialogue has been a
theoretical discussion regarding technology, including the dangers
of technology and it's negative aspects for females and males. Very
little discussion was about how to get women interested in technology.

To some degree, I think the presumption has been that technology is
bad, on some level, because it's male defined. Thus we don't need
to worry so much about getting women engaged in technology, instead
we should redefine technology so it's more inclusive.

Well, where does that leave women and girls in the interim? What
do we do to make sure that the digital divide isn't so large that we can't
bridge it?....................
