This discussion reminds me of a couple of Human Rights
challenges here in Canada in the last couple of years
by men against the Girl Guides of Canada. These
men wanted to be leaders in an organization that
has long maintained a single sex status, with
particular emphasis on the importance of girls having
female leaders/role models. I haven't heard recently
where these challenges are at, bogged down in the
bureaucracy no doubt, but yet another example of
men not tolerating anything that is an initiative
for girls. On the positive side, the Girl Guides
were politicized in the process of proving that
their programs are equity seeking.
