Ahh, but Mary, your pursuit of the photo issue *is* a significant step
even though what you said is true: that changing attitudes is "not quite
as easy as changing pictures in a brochure." The gender-biased photos
reflect the attitudes, but they also help to reinforce them. By taking
a step to change the pictures, you have moved closer to changing the
attitudes in general. Okay, so, in the context of the miles and miles
we still have to go, an inch isn't that much. But it's something--it
is movement in that direction, and it helps.
