Hi,
My name is Paul Gammill. My speciality is building data systems
to extract information from school systems. One interesting aspect of
this work is inspecting and reporting race and sex matriculation, enrollment
and performance patterns in the higher levels of math and science
courses. My feeling is that you "don't neglect what you inspect". One
component of equity needs to be the measurement of equity. And that
measurement must be both robust and fair to all parties envolved. My
years of experence ( and scars) have shown that this is not an easy task
to do well, but if done well it is too powerful to be ignored.
What are the experences of others in this group?
