Dear Eliza,

Thank you very much for your inquiry. I have several possible
resources on girls and technology to suggest for your paper.

The Education Development Center has done a good bit of research on
this topic. Contact Dorothy Bennett (dbennett@confer.edc.org) with the
Center for Children and Technology for more information.

Girls Incorporated operates a program on girls and technology, as well
as many other programs for girls. Heather Johnston Nicholson would be
a good person to talk to there, 317/634-7546. I also have an email
address for her, but I am not sure how reliable it is. (hn358@handsnet)

Two of our Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher Fellows are involved in a program
called GirlTECH. GirlTECH has a homepage on the web and you should
be able to locate it using the title or key words, such as girls and
technology or girls and science. Susan Boone (sboone@cs.rice.edu)
would be a good contact.

There is also a company called GirlGames which produces, plainly
enough, computer games for girls. They are planning to market
educational software in the near future as well. They have a homepage
on the web, too.

I hope these suggestions will be useful to you. Best of luck in your work!

Sincerely,

Caroline Carpenter
