********Carmen Delgado Votaw Receives Hispanic Heritage Award********

Carmen Delgado Votaw--of Girl Scouts of the USA--recently was honored as one of
six recipients for the Hispanic Heritage Award. She was recognized for her work
as a civil rights leader, and together with such notables as Isabel Allende,
Transportation Secretary Federico Pena, actor Jimmy Smits, designer Oscar Dela
Renta, and baseball player Bobby Bonilla, was honored at a party at the Kennedy
Center.

Those of us working in equity have a lot to thank Carmen for--she has been a
stalwart leader for equity and has played a major role in the National Coalition
for the Education of Women and Girls.

For all her work and dedication, we would like to thank Carmen and add our
congratulations to those of many others. Carmen can be reached at Girl Scouts
of the USA, 1025 Connecticut Avenue, NW, #309, Washington, DC. 20036
