Pastel Legos and Xena

This summer I was looking to buy sets of legos for a building activity with
The M.A.D. Scientists Club (Mothers And Daughters). At a discount town
store (not Toys R Us) there were several of the pastel sets marked down
considerably. The clerk said because they were not selling . . . possibly
because people are not thinking in terms of legos for their daughters,
granddaughters, nieces, etc. I paid the extra for the red, white and blues.
The pastels, including the pictures on the carton, were sending the wrong,
wrong message.

Incidentally, there is one Xena Warrior Princess action figure packed in
each case of Hercules action figures. There are so few of the really good
female heroes such as Xena and Princess Leah that they have become
collector items. I'd rather see them in the homes rather than on
collector's shelves.
