Hello from the National Women's History Project! As Autumn comes
into its own, our staff is busily working with teachers laying plans
for National Women's History Month (March) programs.

My question to you (or others on ed equity) is: Are you planning a
celebration for the 25th anniversary of Title IX? Specifically will
you be putting together a history type speech or other
materials...what about a poster celebrating women's education and
women educators?

Title IX was signed by President Nixon on June 23, 1972. June of 1997
will be the 25th year since passage. We in Wisconsin will be doing a
celebration event as we did in 1982 and 1992. Since we do not have
our Title IV project at the SEA, volunteers from community groups are
struggling to put together the above kind of informational materials
for a statewide celebration. Any ideas or assistance would be
fabulous and thanks in advance.
