I have a good resource. The University of Kentucky publishes "Language
Guidelines." The purpose of the publication is to heighten awareness of the
negative power of certain words and phrases which are inappropriate in
University publications because of the stereotyped and inaccurate images they
convey. The publication is very user friendly and covers the areas of age,
different abilities, sex and gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation,
and other areas of sensitivity. It not only describes offensive and
inappropriate language, it gives specific alternatives.

Here is the contact information: UK Publications Bureau/Publication
Relations, University of Kentucky, 101 Mathews Building, Lexington KY
