NCSEE: Post conference workshops

Plan to attend two post conference workshops to be held in
Maui. The first will be a GESA Update Session presented by
Dolores Grayson on July 24, l997 from 8 AM to 12 noon.
The cost is $35. Location on Maui to be announced. The
purpose of this session is to briefly introduce GESA to
"newcomers" and secondly to introduce the new edition of the
handbook.

The second post conference workshop will introduce SAGE
(Student Achievement Grounded in Equity). Nine contributing
authors and field site coordinators from colleges and
universities in eigth states collaborated in the writing of
the SAGE material.This material is designed to provide faculty
members and administrators in higher education with updated
research on strategies to increase student achievement and
retention. In addition to identifying the most supportive and
important teaching behaviors, SAGE includes techniques for
self discovery and assessment and addresses barriers to
success related to content and the learning environment.

The SAGE workshop will happen on July 25th from 8am to 12 noon.
It will cost $35 and the location on Maui is still to be
announced.
