The National Women's History Project would appreciate information about
existing state laws regarding teaching women's history in public schools.
California, for instance, has a dusty law on the books that Susan B.
Anthony's birthday will be observed by schools on February 15, but official
reminders are never issued and it passes un-noticed. Louisiana and Minnesota
require more substantive efforts. Does your state? Please let me know. I
will work your responses into 1998 publicity and the other promotional work
that is done for the 150th anniversary of the organized Women's Rights
Movement.
