are seeking 50 women of color working with grassroots non-profit
organizations to participate in the Western Region

Strategic Communications Workshop:
Using Technology and the Mass Media
to Create Social and Policy Change

September 19-20, 1997
Seattle, Washington

Sessions will include:

-How to develop key communication messages
-fundamentials of a strategic media campaign
-using the internet to distribute your message and access ---resources &
-Women of color building community amongst ourselves
-Public policy education around specific issues including:
---healthcare; welfare reform; affirmative action;
---violence against women; domestic partnership; immigration ---rights;

registration fee: $35 to cover meals

Partial scholarships to assist with travel and accomodations based on need
are available on a limited basis.
