Pacific Islander and Asian Young Women's Resource Gathering
(focus on high school age women)
October 3-5, 1997 at
CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY
Ellensburg, Washington
$25 registration fee, includes lodging and meals
(partial scholarships available)
$15 transportation fee from Southcenter Mall
This conference will focus on providing workshops and mentorship for 100
Pacific Islander and Asian high school aged women on topics such as:
API women and careers-computer science; social services; education;
healthcare; media; etc.
sexual harassment prevention
cultural adjustment
women's healthcare
self-defense and confidence
leadership and social activism
arts & crafts-Hawaiian arts & crafts; Hula; Chinese knot tying
and others
Women from Pacific Islander and Asian communities will be present
throughout the weekend to provide support and serve as role models to the
registrants.
